Girls Varsity Tennis vs. Multiple Opponents

Cougars Lose: -
No one made it to day 2 last year so having 5 people playing at BGSU was awesome. At first singles, Emma was doing very well vs. Springfield and then was stung by a bee and lost a bunch of games in a row. She came in 4th and earned 4 points for the team. Annsley Mann and Kat Barricklow were not feeling their game this day and were shocked by NV 1st doubles after beating them twice this season. They came in 4th and earned 4 points for the team. The team of Abby Kim and Sophie Rees split sets and must of strung out the match so Sophie's parents could make it to cheer them loudly! They won in three sets over Springfield earning 7 point for the team. All of Southview's points added up to 19 to take home the 3rd place tournament finish with NV having 18. In combination with the regular season 4th place finish, the Cougars came in 3rd overall for the NLL season. What a unexpected result but hey we have some great new coaches to thank.

Cougars Lose: -
The first day of sectionals was indoors making for a looooong day of more that 12 hours at the courts. Every single player won a match for the team. At first singles, Ashley Blackford defeated the NV 1st singles in the 2nd round earning 2 points. Emma Allen, at 2nd singles, took the #2 seed to three sets and lost 1-6, 7-5, 3-6. Then she went on to win vs. BG and NV very handily. Julia Malinowski at 3rd singles pulled out the win in the second round over BG and earned another 2 points for the team. Annsley Mann and Kat Barricklow were the first doubles team and defeated Northview in 3 sets and then beat Springfield. Winning at 2nd doubles vs Northview and BG were Abby Kim and Sophie Rees. All of the double match winners moved on to day 2.

The Cougars defeated that cross town rival at NV 3-2. Winning in straight sets were Ashley Blackford at 1st singles, Annsley Mann/Kat Barricklow at 1st doubles and Abby Kim/Sophie Rees at 2nd doubles.

Cougars Win: 3 - 2
Senior night was quite a night with Senior 1st doubles Kat Barricklow and Annsley Mann winning as well as2nd doubles team Megan Peng and Grace Jung. In a 3 plus hour match junior Emma Allen won 2nd singles 6-7, 7-6, 6-2 to seal the victory.

Cougars Lose: 2 - 3
It was a pleasant weather evening after the threat of rain. SV Lady tennis lost a close match to Springfield 2-3. Only the seniors won by registering wins at 3rd singles was Julia Malinowski and at 1st doubles Annsley Mann and Kat Barricklow.

Sweeping Singles were Ashley, Emma, and Julia. Doubles winners were Annsley and Kat as well as Abby and Sophie. The JV match of team Megan and Grace were winners as well.

Southview handled the heat and came away with a win over Bowling Green. Winning in singles were Annsley Mann and Emma Allen. Doubles winners were Abby Kim and Sophie Rees. JV winners included Meg Galambos, Gabi Lowenstein/Charlotte Ide, Julia Malinowski/Maggie Ou and Yulia Lee/Solim Kim

Cougars Win: 4 - 1
Lady Cougar Tennis snatched their first win of the season over the Maumee Panthers 4-1. Winning for SV were Annsley Mann at first singles, Ashley Blackford at 2nd, Kat Barricklow and Megan Peng at 1st doubles, and Meg Galambos and Grace Jung at 2nd doubles. After the match Maumee hosted a senior night picnic which was enjoyed by all.

Perrysburg is always tough. Abby Kim and Sophie Rees were very close to upsetting 2nd doubles with a score of 7-5, 2-6, 4-6. This is the team to watch for the future.

Annsley and Kat were on top of the 1st doubles defeating Clay. Winning in fun style were Abby Kim and Sophie Rees at 2nd doubles. Ashley played 1st singles, Emma played 2nd and Julia was at 3rd. Everyone played to their best ability! Go Cougars

Cougars Lose: 1 - 4
It was great weather for tennis and SV held their own against Central Catholic in doubles. Losing at 1st doubles in 2 very close sets were Captains Annsley Mann and Kat Barricklow. The junior team of Abby Kim and Sophie Rees in the second doubles match were victorious in 3 set match. Rounding out singles were juniors Ashley Blackford, Emma Allen, and Meg Galambos

Lady Cougars took on Fremont Ross in the first round of the OTCA tournament and came up short 2-3. Winning for the Cougars were Annsley Mann at 1st singles and Emma Allen at 3rd. Megan Peng won the sportsmanship award for the match.
